Montague and Capulet:

Text Box: Montague and Capulet are the heads of the house holds. They have been fighting with each other for years, although the book doesn't say the cause, only that they still fight to this day. Montague's son is Romeo, Capulet's daughter is Juliet. The two heads of their respective households never fight, only it appears do their servants, nephews and children. At the end of the play each man loses their beloved child. Montague's role in the play appears to be limited to concern for his son. Except for in the last scene  where is raises a gold statue of his sons love, and his former enemies daughter, Juliet. Capulet's role, however, is much greater. In the beginning he is a wise, and charming man, who doesn't want to fight with Romeo. Near the end of the book, his character changes dramatically into a firm, stubborn man, who would rather have his daughter married to someone against her will, then have his rule questioned.
